Professor Matteo Barsani, a faculty member at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Thuwal, visited Taheel Associatipn during his visit to Al-Qassim region. He was welcomed by the General Director of Branches of the Association, Mr. Yousef Al-Rumaih, and Dr. Yahya Al-Hassan Al-Taher, Director of the association’s Strategic Planning and Development Department. The visit began with a closed meeting where a documentary film about the association and its role in providing serviced for people with disabilities was shown. The visit also included a field trip in Ta’heel Humanitarian Association City to see its current centers and future projects. Professor Matteo Barsani expressed his great admiration for the great potential and qualitative projects he saw to serve people with disabilities. He was accompanied on this trip by: Prof. Abdulaziz Murtada, Project Director of Athar Initiative, Researcher Dr. Jose Flio, Physical Therapist, Mr. Romano Pindo, Dr. Muhammad Al-Atawi and Anwar Al-Ghanimi, Government Relations Officer at Thuwal University, and the media team accompanying him to document this trip that he is taking to several regions and cities of the Kingdom. It is worth mentioning that Professor Matteo Barsani is on a trip that will last for 30 days from the east of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to its west, and he will stop in 10 different cities including Riyadh, Hail, Buraydah, Unayzah, AlUla, Red Sea Project, Medina, Mecca and Jeddah. The trip began from Dammam on December 17 and ends in Thuwal at King Abdullah University on January 17. The goal of this trip, which holds the name #Athr-East-to-West, is to raise the level of awareness about people with disabilities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in addition to that, 50 hand bicycles will be distributed to children with hemiplegia in cooperation with the Authority for Persons with Disabilities
