The Deputy Governor of Unayzah, Mr. Saad bin Abdullah Al-Sulaim, sponsored the “Let’s Walk Together 2023” event for people with disabilities, which was organized by Unayzah Association for Development and Human Services – Ta’heel - with the participation of 980 participants, including competitors, organizational teams, and several centers and schools specialized in the field of special education in Al-Qassim region. This morning, Thursday, December 14, 2023, in the city of Ta’heel Humanitarian Association, in partnership with Al-Aoun Center in Jeddah. The event was attended by His Excellency the Director of the Branch of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in Al-Qassim Region, Mr. Abdullah Al-Sibai, and the Vice Chairman of the Board of Unayzah Association for Development and Human Services, Eng. Musaed Al-Yahya Al-Salim, and a number of leaders from governmental and charitable sectors in Unayzah Governorate.

 

The race was divided into four categories, the first category: a 2000-meter race for ages over 9 years, the second category: a 1000-meter race for ages under 9 years and those with health complications over 9 years, and the third category: a 500-meter race for wheelchairs - early intervention children. The 2000m race was won by Saad Saleh Al-Harithi in first place, Muhammad Kamel Al-Shamali in second place, and Abdullah Al-Bour Saeedi in third place. The 1000-meter race was won by Munther Al-Mutairi in first place, Mutaib Al-Mutairi in second place, and Talib Al-Sayari in third place. In the 500-meter race, winners were Riyad Khaled Al-Anazi in first place, Yasser Al-Rashidi in second place, and Falah Al-Mutairi in third place. The winners of the 2000-meter race for girls, in first place the contestant Sadeem Al Otaibi, in second place the contestant Rahaf Al Mutairi, and in third place the contestant Nouf Al Otaibi. Winners of the 1000-meter race for girls, Afaf Al Harbi in first place, Ghada Al Harbi in second place, and Reham Al Khulaifi in third place. In the 500-meter wheelchair race, Abdulrahman Al-Balaa in first place, Rital Al-Mutairi in second place, and Amal Al-Shammari in third place.

 

On this happy occasion, the General Director of the branches of Unayzah Association for Development and Human Services - Ta’heel - and the general supervisor of this program, Mr. Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Rumaih, gave his speech, saying, “The city of Ta’heel Humanitarian Association lived a day full of giving, community initiatives, and useful sports for people with disabilities, where we organized this sports carnival with its noble goals and message, and the goal of this event was to provide the opportunity for people with disabilities to show their sports skills and abilities.” Mr. Yousef Al-Rumaih emphasized, saying: “Organizing such programs and events has a major role in educating society about the capabilities of people with disabilities and proving their right to participate in public and sport events, and continuing to show the capabilities of people with disabilities and working to spread the concept of sports and its importance, which has become an important part of our lives, and it has an impact on physical, psychological and social health.This type of events shows an active lifestyle for people with disabilities and their integration into the sports community in order to achieve the initiatives of the Quality of Life Program and the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
